How does autopilot mode work?

With autopilot active, AutoRentAI.com automatically confirms every successfully paid booking. Cron jobs then send the right e-mails on schedule: 2 days before pickup the online check-in invitation with magic link, 2 hours after pickup the thank-you mail, after return the invoice. You configure it once per tenant in admin.

Auto-confirm after card payment

Stripe webhook payment_intent.succeeded triggers automatic status switch from pending to confirmed. The customer gets the booking_confirmed e-mail with voucher attached immediately.

Automatic online check-in invitation

Cron job runs hourly, finds all bookings with pickup in 2 days, sends a personalised e-mail with magic link directly into the 5-step wizard (payment, deposit, signature, documents, confirmation).

Reminder, invoice, review โ€” all automatic

Reminder e-mail editable in admin (manually triggerable). Invoice is generated automatically after return protocol with configurable tax rate. In the thank-you mail after return optionally a Trust24 review CTA.

Frequently asked questions

Can I disable autopilot only for specific bookings? +
Currently global on/off per tenant. We are working on a per-booking setting for special cases (e.g. corporate clients with individual agreements).
What happens on errors (mail send fails, Stripe down)? +
Cron jobs are idempotent-protected. On mail error the sent flag is reset and tried again next run. On Stripe webhook errors the booking lands in a status you see on the dashboard.
Which e-mails are NOT auto-sent on autopilot OFF? +
booking_confirmed, force_online_checkin and payment_received only go automatically with autopilot ON. booking_reminder however only goes with autopilot OFF (1 day before pickup as a reminder).
Can I customise the e-mail texts myself? +
Yes, all e-mail templates are editable in admin trilingually (DE/EN/ES) with placeholders like {{first_name}}, {{booking_code}}, {{pickup_date}}. Reply-to, BCC and the sender name are also configurable per template.
How do I see what autopilot did? +
E-mail log in admin shows every sent mail with recipient, status (sent/failed), timestamp. In the booking detail you see per booking which steps ran automatically.
